I have a confession.
Things have been a bit rough lately.
Regardless of party affiliation, the philosophical divisions revealed by elections across the world have been sobering and have left me searching for the north star I had felt so strongly before.
How did we get here?
Where do we go?
In an effort to channel the collaborative power of the internet, I developed a Google Doc titled, Dear 2020. In this document, I expressed my hopes for the next four years and how I planned to take action to make positive change happen.
I invited anyone and everyone to contribute: edit my letter, write their own letter, provide critique, etc.
I invite any of you reading to contribute as well.
You can see the original invitation to collaborate that I posted on my personal Facebook here:
It has been over a month since I posted Dear 2020, and I have been utterly blown away by the community of love and hope that exists on this collaborative letter to our future.
People of all walks of life and countries of origin have contributed, pouring out their hopes – happy, sad, practical, logical, political, emotional, familial, global – hopes for the future.
The letter I originally wrote is no longer my own, but ours – A beautifully woven tapestry of hopes to our future.
While the test of community and perseverance we face over the next four years will be challenging, I am emboldened with hope from the community that has contributed to Dear 2020.
